  CALLING ALL MEMBERS:

We need your help! Don't Miss the Boat!

The Board of Governors is sounding the call... your help is needed to get the club in SHIP SHAPE!

We are looking for people to get involved on committees!

If you are interested please call Jay Eichelberger at 410-988-9494 or via email at je@swealth.com

Tough financial times mean that we must turn to member manpower rather than paying professionals to do the job. Projects you can VOLUNTEER for include:

  • Repair Scullery (Barbecue Pit) Rear Wooden Frame

Each task requires a Project Captain and Assistants.

Project Captains will be responsible for purchasing supplies (all expenses will be reimbursed when receipts are submitted), contacting Assistants and scheduling a Work Day for Fall 2011 or Spring 2011 to do the repairs.

   ILBC Members since 2009

Congratulations and sincere thanks to two of our newest members, Dennis and Jill Dame. Not only did Dennis and Jill take numerous beautiful photos to document the Junior Sailing Regatta, but they also took it upon themselves to restore the Club's adirondack chairs! One chair at a time, the Dames took the weathered seating home to glue and repair the entire collection! Next time you have a seat to enjoy our beautiful view, think of the Dames and how volunteering helps to keep Indian Landing up and running!

On behalf of the Board of Governors and fellow members, thank you Dennis and Jill Dame!

The talent, skills and dedication of our members is what keeps the Club running. If you have someone you would like to suggest for the Volunteer Spotlight, please
send us an email with that person's name and a description of their contribution. We'll post it here and give them the recognition and thanks they deserve!

We invite anyone interested in paddling with other members of the Club to contact Beth Rogers or Margaret MacNemar-Radford.

Some activities could include :

  • A regular early morning or evening time to paddle from ILBC
  • Trips to other local paddling places
  • Overnight camp/kayaking trips
  • Full moon paddles
  • Practice rescues, rolling, trying out other boats
  • Get an expert from the Chesapeake Paddlers Association to come and offer a coaching session

This is a great way to connect with other paddlers and all levels are welcome. If you don't have a boat and want to try kayaking, let Beth Rogers know and we might be able to set something up!
